Today is the last day of lessons for the first semester of my 3rd year in NUS. For some of my friends, this will mark the start of the second last reading week of their education. For others, this will mark the start of revision for the exams due in a week. For me, it would have been a good day to celebrate the end of lessons. But it wasn’t.
Instead, today was the day that I learnt the most important lesson in my life. Not by my teachers, or my lecturers, or my tutors, or the many good theorists that I read in my readings. But from one of the most important people in my life at the moment.
Today I learnt that if you love somebody, let him/her know. Let the world know. Or else, you’ll regret it. Cause the person will leave, and you won’t know what you did wrong. Thankfully, my person loves me too much to leave. But I just want to affirm him again, and again, and again.
Dearie, I love you. I’m really really thankful to have you in my life. For all the little things and big sacrifices that you’ve done for me. For putting me first at all times. You are the best, Shawn Quek, you are.
